Sergio Damian has become a leading figure of the guitar community both as a performer and luthier. His virtuosity and profoundly sensitive playing has brought him to perform in stages around the world including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Argentina, China and Costa Rica. He has performed as a soloist with several orchestras including the “Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México'', “Orquesta Filarmónica of Toluca, México”,  “Orquesta Sinaloa de las Artes”, “Orquesta Filarmónica de Acapulco”, “Orquesta de Cámara de Michoacán” and the Xin Dao Orchestra in Pekin, China.

Sergio completed his bachelors degree in musical studies at the “Escuela Nacional de Música de la UNAM'', studying with Manuel Espinas and Juan Carlos Laguna. He participated in masterclasses by acclaimed guitarists Leo Brower, Manuel Barrueco and David Russell. He has been laureate in several classical guitar competitions including: Second Prize at the “Concurso Nacional de Intérpretes de Guitarra en Paracho, Michoacán. First Prize at the “Concurso Nacional de Culiacán, Sinaloa” 2002 and First Prize at the “Concurso Nacional de  Taxco, Guerrero” 2003.

 As a luthier, Sergio has been equally successful winning in 2022 the first prize at the National Luthier Competition in Paracho, Michoacan. Currently, Sergio balances his performing and luthier career and at the same time serves as guitar faculty and program coordinator at the “Conservatorio de Música del Estado De México en Toluca.
