Ricardo Dias (Rio de Janeiro, April 10th, 1963) is a luthier, writer, composer, and producer. He studied guitar with Sergio de Pinna, Henrique Pinto, and Jodacil Damaceno. He began his career in lutherie in 1986 with Mario Jorge Passos (1953-2022) and worked alongside Sergio Abreu (1948-2023), whose biography he wrote. He composes song lyrics and produces CDs, such as those of João Camarero and Iuri Bittar, in addition to assisting with various others, like Duo Siqueira Lima and Fabio Zanon. He has also produced music festivals and is a designer. He spent several years away from instrument making, dedicating himself only to repairs, but after Sergio Abreu's passing, he returned to building guitars.
