Following her highly successful performances at prestigious festivals such as the Festival Internacional Castell de Peralada, Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, Festival de Música y Danza de Úbeda, Certamen Internacional de guitarra de Barcelona, Ciclo Navidad con CajaMurcia, “Forum de las Culturas” de Barcelona, Sociedad Española de la guitarra de Madrid...Paola Requena is placed among the Spanish guitarists of her generation with the most promising future ahead of them. Paola was born in Cartagena, Spain. She completed his advanced studies in the “Ecole Normale of Music” in Paris with Alberto Ponce and at the “Oscar Esplá” Conservatory in Alicante under the tutelage of Ignacio Rodes, winning the Extraordinary End-of-Course prize in the year 2007.At the same time she took part in various international courses under the supervision of prestigious guitarists such José Tomás, David Russell, Roberto Aussel, Jose Miguel Moreno, Ricardo Gallén etc.

She has been awarded many prizes at major nacional and internacional guitar competitions including the Internacional competition Francisco Tárrega in Benicassim, Printemps de la guitare in Charleroi (Bélgica), Certamen Internacional Andrés Segovia in la Herradura (Spain), Internacional competition “Comarca del Condado” in Jaén (Spain), Competiton“José Tomás” in Almería, Juventudes Musicales of Spain, Sociedad de Conciertos of Alicante, “Cincilia” competiton in Albacete etc. In January 2010, she was invited by the Spanish Embassy in Austria to perform two recitals in Vienna, one in the Instituto Cervantes and another in the ‘Hofburg’ Imperial Palace where she played for the President of Austria Heinz Fischer and for the ambassadors of Spain for the Spanish EU Presidency Inauguration. She has performed as a soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Valencia, Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie (Belgium), Symphonic Orchestra of Alicante, Collegium Instrumentale, Cartagena Chamber Orquestra etc. 

As a teacher she has given classes and master-classes in conservatories and music schools like the Conservatory of music in Cartagena, Music school in Andorra (Teruel), Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussel, École de Musique de Angers, Conservatory of Music in Caravaca, Conservatory of Music in Argenteuil (Francia), Conservatory Superior of Music in Murcia, etc. She has been selected by the Fundación A.I.E. (a society of Artists and Performers from Spain) to participate as a soloist in the ‘Clásicos en Ruta’ (Classics on the road) series, performing in cities such as A Coruña, Cádiz, Pamplona, Mérida... She has done recordings since 2007 for Spanish TV, that have been broadcast by the most importants TV channels in Spain and international TVE. 

She is a member of SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores de España) since he composes his own repertoire that she has recorded together with guitarist Víctor Bravo on a CD entitled Ritmos del Mundo that they have presented in 2022 in numerous cycles and guitar festivals such as the Xixona Guitar Festival. , Miguel Llobet Festival of Barcelona, Ponferrada International Guitar Festival, CajaMurcia Foundation, Caravaca de la Cruz Guitar Festival... She recently formed the Carmesí Guitar Duo together with the guitarist Isabel Martínez, with whom they have numerous projects for the coming year.
