Hannah Murphy is an active performer and teacher based in New York City. She has been a featured performer at the Wilmington Classical Guitar Society, Lincoln Center, and the Raritan River Music Residency Program. As an online advocate for classical guitar, she has worked with companies such as Augustine Strings, Bam Cases, Altamira Guitars, Fender Guitars, Soundbrenner Metronomes, and Soundfile nail files. In the summer of 2019 she was awarded a fellowship to participate and give concerts in Italy as part of the Lanciano International Guitar Seminar. While there she performed in masterclasses with top teachers as well as giving concerts throughout the Abruzzo region.
Ms. Murphy holds a Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Mannes School of Music, where she studied with international concert artist Michael Newman. She achieved her Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at Rowan University while studying with Kathleen Mayes and Joseph Mayes, famed student of Andres Segovia. She is also a passionate guitar teacher, with certification in the Suzuki Guitar Method. Ms. Murphy plays both solo concerts and in a classical guitar duo with Phil Goldenberg.
