"A sensitive and expressive player with a passionate temperament and a graceful touch. I am looking forward to see how she will bloom as a professional musician.” - Antigoni Goni

Ilaria Sanna is an Italian guitarist and guitar teacher based in Brussels.

She approached guitar at the age of 9 and studied for ten years with Alessandro Deiana. She then continued  her education at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali P. Mascagni in Livorno where she graduated in 2017 with full marks in the class of Flavio Cucchi. She then perfected herself at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels, under the guidance of internationally renowned guitarist Antigoni Goni, obtaining the Master of Arts in Guitar Performance in 2019.

Teaching has also always covered an important role for Ilaria: since her first years at the conservatory, she  has been working both privately and in the secondary school and she obtained a second Master in Guitar  Teaching at the Conservatory of Mons in 2020.

Throughout her studies, she also attended various masterclasses with guitarists of great fame, such as Roland  Dyens, Andrea Dieci, Elena Papandreou and Cristiano Porqueddu. During the 2016 year-long masterclass led  by Aniello Desiderio she has also been elected as best student.

Passionate about chamber music, she experienced various ensembles such as guitar duo, trio, quartet and  duo with flute, giving concerts in both Italy and Belgium.

In recent years she has been particularly interested in the modern and contemporary music, with special focus  on the Balkan and Middle Eastern repertoire, playing pieces by composers from Greece, Turkey and Armenia.
